iCAN is the professional and social network for graduates of iCons, a next-generation program of interdisciplinary science and engineering education at the University of Massachusetts.
With in-person events on hold for 2020, iCons alumni have had to find other ways to stay in touch. To that end, the network hosted a series of virtual happy hours throughout the late summer and early fall.
Armed with four years of training in critical thinking, scientific problem solving, and communication, our members are ready to take on the world's biggest challenges.
This international network aims to foster and maintain a powerful sense of community among the alumni of iCons. We believe that we can carry the collaborative spirit of the program out into the world, and by doing so, improve both it and ourselves.

iCAN members work in diverse industries, from biological research to clean energy to software development, and strive to be leaders in these fields. The primary function of iCAN is to foster the exchange of ideas, resources, and people between academic and industrial disciplines.
iCAN aims to bring our members together outside of work as well. We sponsor events, outings and gatherings that help us get to know each other.
iCAN is proud to give back to the community. The network organizes various service events, usually with a technical or academic focus.
iCAN is a registered non-profit organization.
100% of all donations go directly towards our social and service events and the maintenance of our web presence.
